Pockets and Paintings #31

He was born in 1958 and is considered one of the most influential painters working today. Apparently he completes every painting he does in a day, which is kind of wild. He pours through found imagery from magazines, newspapers and television and he carefully prepares for each work by studying the image it will come from, stripping out the color and the meaning. His figures often hover between abstraction and reality, and his technique makes you think of old bleached out photographs. He works in series, often with heavy subject matter like the holocaust, 9/11, and the independence of the Congo.
Here is my outfit inspired by the painting:
Dress: 3.1 Phillip Lim, earrings: Monica Vinader, shoes: Yves Saint Laurent
Bangles: Ippolita, bag: Tory Burch
